Discography of American Historical Recordings: The most ambitious discography of all time

Documenting every master recording from the company that dominated recorded music in the United States before World War II, the Discography of American Historical Recordings (DAHR) is the most expansive and sophisticated discography online. Eventually including all Victor releases from 1900 through 1950, the site allows users to search for specific information about a recording, artist, or disc, or to browse through the holdings to discover interesting new information about a bygone era.

Collaborating with a team of researchers from the University of California, Properly Sorted was involved from the ground up, providing a FileMaker-based solution that allowed researchers to enter and edit the data, and then creating a fully-featured website for collectors, libraries, and the public around the world to which functionality is continually being added. A synchronization process allows data from FileMaker to be directly updated to the mySQL driven website.
